"BUILDING DREAMS, DREAMING BUILDINGS" Capital Campaign

Northbrook & Surrounding Communities
Benefit from ICODA’s NewBuilding

Can a new building in a prime location bring prestige and benefits to the community in which it is located?  We believe that ICODA’s new building can do exactly that for Northbrook and the entire surrounding communities.  Our belief is based on the following facts:

  • ICODA’s building will bring a new level of culture to Glenview & Northbrook by featuring well known performers in their TV Studio or state of the art, 500 seat theatre and art work by influential artists will be recognized in ICODA’s new Art Gallery. Visitors of all ages will experience our Museum on Deafness, thereby identifying the Northbrook Community as a major arts center.
  • ICODA’s building will bring a new level of educational prestige to Northbrook by providing University and College partnerships with ICODA, which permits the education and training of teachers and other professionals in deafness.  This northshore area is noted for its excellent elementary, middle and high schools.  The added presence of a University and College in the ICODA building will add to the prestige and will serve as a constant reminder to the leaders of tomorrow of the value of higher education. The community gains in prestige for housing an outstanding educational center that reaches out on a national basis.
  • ICODA’s building will provide a medical treatment and intervention center which will allow individuals to have their hearing tested, be fitted for hearing aids and the mapping of the latest technological advancement – the Cochlear Implant.  Mapping permits the implant to function at maximum capacity for the user.  In addition, a training program for infants to seniors receiving an implant will be provided to teach them how to use this new technology.  Supporting us in this endeavor is the audiology program of  Children’s Memorial Hospital of Northwestern University and the Chicago Otology Group, also of Northwestern.
  • ICODA’s building will bring economic growth to the communities of Glenview & Northbrook.  The presence of theater lovers and art patrons will bring business to the area.  The University and College will bring students who will eat in the nearby restaurants and shop in the local stores.  The same is true of parents of clients who will frequent the diagnostic and treatment clinic.  Of most importance is the fact that the presence of a prestigious building known nationally and internationally will increase property values, thereby making the Northbrook area the most desirable place to live.

This building will belong to the residents of Glenview & Northbrook and ICODA is eager to share the possibilities with the entire northshore community.
