ICODA PROGRAMS - Traveling Hands Troupe

Come SEE the Music!

The Award-winning Traveling Hands Troupe strives to tear down the stereotypes associated with Deafness by proving that with hard work and determination Anything is Possible!

After performing the National Anthem at a Chicago Rush Game, Troupe members were invited to stay for the game! What do we do?
Traveling Hands Troupe (THT) servers as an outreach program for ICODance Company.  The program is comprised of Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Hearing members between the ages of 7 and 18.  The troupe performs poems, Interpreted song and dance for various Service Organizations, Schools, Churches, Temples, Sporting Events, all major ICODA functions and parties.

Performing “Everybody Dance” at the Northbrook Days Carnival, August 2007.Why is THT an important group for young, Deaf entertainers?
Traveling Hands Troupe provides an opportunity for young performers to learn dance and acting technique.  The troupe also is an excellent place to meet new friends, develop performance dedication skills and how to work well in a group.

Our show is traditionally 45 minutes in length and costs $300.00.  However, we can shorten or lengthen the show depending on your needs.

Those questions you were always afraid to ask….
Immediately following every performance the troupe members introduce themselves and answer questions from the audience.  This provides an excellent opportunity for audience members to gain some insight into the Deaf world.
